Statement of Account (Tax Invoice)

Upon confirmation of your enrolment you will be able to view your statement of account through MyVU. Your statement of account will be based on your enrolment and will detail:

  • how much you need to pay
  • when to pay your fees
  • how to pay your fees

You can also access your statement of account by asking for a copy at your closest VUHQ centre.

Outstanding Debt

Any student who has an outstanding University debt will not be eligible to:

  • Receive a Statement of Results or Academic Transcript, graduate or receive an award of the University
  • Use library services
  • Use computer services

Payment Plan

Victoria University offers a Payment Plan Option to eligible vocational education students, where you may be able to pay your fees via instalments.

Payment methods

Online (by credit card)

All domestic and international students now have the option to pay fees online by credit card (we currently accept VISA and MasterCard).

To pay online by credit card, view your statement of account in MyVU and proceed to the payment option.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

All domestic and international students now have the option to pay fees via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) using their electronic banking platform.

Our bank account details (BSB, Account Number, Account Name and Reference) appear on the front of your Statement of Account in the Electronic Funds Transfer section under Payment Options. These bank account details for EFT are unique to you.

Payments made after the due date do not confirm your enrolment in your course. Payments made via EFT require overnight processing. Banks determine a cut-off time for processing of transactions. You must submit payment by the bank's cut-off time for it to be accepted on the date of payment.

BPAY

Make BPAY payments direct from your cheque, savings, debit card or transaction account on or before the due date shown on your account, to Biller Code 1149. Your Customer Reference Number appears on your Statement of Account.

Payments made after the due date do not confirm your enrolment in your course. Payments made via BPAY require overnight processing. Banks determine a cut-off time for processing of transactions. You must submit payment by the bank's cut-off time for it to be accepted on the date of payment.

Post Billpay

Pay in person at any Post Office, use a credit card to pay over the internet or phone +61 13 18 16, or use the Australia Post smartphone app.

Quote Aust. Post Billpay Code 2388 and your Reference Number, which appears on the front of your Statement of Account next to the Aust Post Billpay symbol.

By mail (Cheques, international drafts & money orders)

Mail a cheque or money order, made payable to Victoria University (in Australian dollars (AUD$) if paying from overseas) to:

Please note: Write your Student ID number and name on the back of the cheque.

In person

Australia Post

Present your Statement of Account at any Australia Post Office on or before the due date shown on your account. Cash, cheque, credit cards and EFTPOS facilities are available. American Express or Diners Club cards will not be accepted.

VUHQ (Student Service Centres)

Present your Statement of Account to a VUHQ by 4pm on or before the due date shown on your account. Credit card and EFTPOS facilities are available. American Express or Diners Club cards will not be accepted.

Please note:

  • no more than $500 cash can be accepted.
  • not all Student Service Centres can accept cash payments.

Telegraphic transfers

Our bank and your bank may charge fees for international Telegraphic transfers. Please allow an additional AUD$50 in your payment to cover these standard bank fees. Please refer to your letter of offer which will specify our nominated bank account details unique to you, and to which you can transmit the payment of funds.

Once you have sent your payment please email remittance.finance@vu.edu.au and International@vu.edu.au and advise us of the following information:

  • VU Student ID number
  • Family name, given name
  • Date of transfer
  • Amount transferred AUD$
  • Country from which payment was sent
  • Bank confirmation of payment advice
  • Course details.

Financial assistance

If you have difficulty paying for your course, you may be able to receive financial assistance through a scholarship, fee extension or student loan.

We offer you a wide range of assistance, referrals and advice to help you manage your finances while studying.

We can help you in many ways if you are having problems paying the required fees.

  • For free and confidential financial advice, contact our Student Welfare team.
  • Eligible students may request a fee extension, if you are having trouble paying by the due date.
  • Get help with purchasing books, computers & course related materials with a student loan.
  • Consider applying for a scholarship. You can apply for a range of VU and external scholarships that can help with living and education costs.
  • If you are studying a Diploma or above course, you may have the option to defer your fees to a VET Student Loan
  • VE/TAFE students who are not eligible for a VET Student Loan can make use of the Payment Plan Option, where you pay your course fees in instalments.

VET Refunds

If you withdraw from your course or unit(s) of study, you may be eligible for a refund of some/all of the fees paid. To find information regarding your eligibility for a refund see refunds & remission of debt
